Getting to La Paz, Mexico

Beginning your adventure in The City of Peace is made accessible with various transportation offerings.

La Paz is served by Manuel Marquez de Leon International Airport (airport code LAP). The airport is 12  KM south of the main city, and features flights from Alaska Airlines, Aeromexico Connect, Volaris and VivaAerobus to the most important cities of Mexico including: Mexico City, Guadalajara, Monterrey, and the U.S., with flights to LA and San Diego and more.

It is approximately a two-hour drive from Cabo San Lucas, should you fly into Los Cabos International Airport.

If looking for a genuine road trip, La Paz is at about 950 miles from San Diego down Highway 1, with beautiful scenery and landscapes.

From Mainland Mexico, you can catch a ferry that crosses the Sea of Cortez to and from La Paz to the port cities of Mazatlan and Los Mochis. Ferries do not run everyday, so be sure to check departure times.

Directions to Paraiso Del Mar

Paraiso Del Mar provides free airport to hotel, and hotel to airport transportation from Manuel Márquez de León International Airport. Please contact to arrange the service.

If you rent a car, exit airport to the left,  follow the road to La Paz-Constitucion, stay on the left line and follow the sign La Paz Centro. Pass Walmart and keep going straight. Once you are in town the road changes names to Abasolo; you will pass 5 de Febrero Boulevard with a stop light. Be ready to turn left on Marquez de Leon street. Enter Plaza Vista Coral, our host will be waiting for you by the dock where you take the boat to Paraiso del Mar.

Beaches in La Paz, Mexico

Whether you’re looking to attain that perfect tan, or just want to relax in the sun’s warm rays, the beaches near La Paz provide a wonderful location to soak it all in. With the vibrant turquoise waters and delicate warm white sand, the beaches just a short drive from La Paz hold some of the loveliest settings in all of Baja.  With welcoming storefronts and restaurants along the malecón, enjoy a day filled with pleasures of both sand and sea, or spend all your time cooling in the refreshing waters.

Getting to the beaches of the north is easy, with at least 10 public buses from the beach bus station at Independencia on the malecón departing from 8am to 5:30pm making stops at Playa Caimancito, Playa Coromuel, Playa Tesoro, and Pichilingue.
